Yooper definition:  Yooper is a term referring to those hailing from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan--U.P. is pronounced "yoo-pee" and over time we became Yoopers.  Those from the lower peninsula are called Trolls.  Ha.  At least by us. The U.P. can be tough. Better have a sense of humor if you try a winter here.
